APW - Hamilton, Grade 946 "Extra," 23J, 18S, 14K gold swingout case, "A.N. Anderson, Extra" marked white enamel DS dial, gold hands, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, ornate nickel damascene, s#549933. Gross weight of assembled watch 82.0 dwt (127.5 g). A superb example of this rare marking variant; the "A.N. Anderson, Extra" signed dial is correct to this watch and the Hamilton factory ledger shows this particular serial number as having been sold to A.N. Anderson of Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 1st, 1912. From the well-known Hamilton collection of Robert Bennett of Olivehurst, California.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, few micro-fine scratches, few small specks of oxide to regulator spring; nearly flawless dial with few small fine scratches, minuscule edge nick under bezel near 12; fine hands, minute with oxide; case shows very little wear, dent to edge at 4:30, small mild dents to edge at 3 and 6, excellent engine turning detail with very slight reduction at shoulder; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
